It's a bubble-top Mustang and the aircraft letter seems underlined.
More likely : from http://littlefriends.co.uk/339thfg.php 44-14656 P-51D 505 6N-C Gousie Lt. Roland E Dottie Named for his younger sister. Lost in this a/c 15 April 45 - POW Hand-me-down from LtCol Thury ?
