Hi Nuppol

I've been investigating this incident for several years without success!

I've seen suggestions that the passengers were decorated SOE officers, or Italian agents, but ......................?

Cheers

Hi guys

I don't think Major Neville Darewski was one of those killed in this incident. It seems that he was killed a week earlier in an accident with a truck!

Cheers

Hi guys

I understand that the P-51 pilot was from the 318th FS and thought he was attacking an Hs123!

Any name?

Cheers
Brian

Re: Lysander T1456 lost 22-Nov 1944 story?

It appears the men were of No. 5 Section of the I.S. 9 organization tasked with the extraction of escaped POWs and evaders in Italy.

Perhaps this link has been provided before, but even so: http://camp59survivors.wordpress.com...-italy-part-4/

Scroll down to No. 5 Section where the events prior to the Lysander shoot down is described.

Regars,

Leendert
