Disciplinary action against Hptm. Rudolf Altendorf, Kdr. IV./NJG5 Sept. 1944?
Dear all,
Hptm. Rudolf Altendorf, Kommandeur of IV./NJG5 was disciplinary relieved of his command of his Gruppe on 9 September 1944 and sentenced to 1 year and 6 months confinement, fined and demoted with most of the sentence suspended, provided he “prove” himself in combat with the enemy. Does anybody know the reason for this heavy sentence? I would also be very interested to know who is currently owning the photo albums of Altendorf, as I would like to publish a couple of photos of Altendorf in the NJWD 2nd edition. Cheers, Theo
