Franz Stiglers Bf-109G-6

Hey guys, this is my first post so just want to say, it's great to be here, I have been directed to this site to look for answers many times so I figured may as well post directly to here. My question is, does anyone have any information on the plane that Franz Stigler, famous for his encounter with Charlie Brown's B-17 'Ye Old Pub', had when this encounter occurred? The picture that was made of them shows him in a G-6 model and all I have been able to find was his F model. Much appreciated!

Fuman

Hello Fuman,

most illustrations of this encounter show a black outlined yellow 2 + -
some with white tail, II. Group-emblem, black spinner with white spiral.
Just take a look at google and a warm welcome from me.

Regards

Daniel

Re: Franz Stiglers Bf-109G-6

Hi there Fuman,

Here are the two pics I know of franz Stigler's Bf 109 G-6, taken at Graz in April 1944:

They were published by Jochen Prien and Peter Rodeike in 1995, Messerschmitt Bf 109 F, g and K, Schiffer Verlag, p. 128.
Cheers
