RAF Ford August 16/17th 1943

Hi,

Hoping someone with the station ORB for RAF Ford could look up details for August 16th / 17th 1943. I am looking for details on diverted aircraft from No.218 and No.623 Squadrons and any reference to injuries to any of the crews.I would also like to know what time the crews of No.623 Squadron departed Ford for Downham Market on the 17th.

Any help most welcome.

Kind regards

Steve

Re: RAF Ford August 16/17th 1943

Not much info in the Ford ORB I'm afraid. 16 Aug. 43:

Some enemy activity in the vicinity of the aerodrome in the early hours of the morning. No. 256 Squadron claims 3 destroyed and 1 probable.

Nothing for the 17 August.
Ref: AIR 28/285 (ORB Ford)

Hi Steve

This is completely irrelevant for the purposes of your question, but was Ford an RAF station? Wasn't it RNAS Ford?
