Latvian Uffz Julijs Stars

Searching usual details (mostly AC and place) of the death of this Latvian pilot, killed on 10 October 1944 in a training accident on his second solo flight in an FW-190.

On the Grabersuche site, there is an Uffz Albert Stars, born on 13 July 1917, and killed on 10 October 1944 at Naugard-Minden, Pomerania. This area was at the time not seeing ground battles, so it is probably a Luftwaffe casualty, and there were several air schools in the area, so my guess is that it is the same man, with Albert maybe being the translation of the Latvian surname Julijs (?) or a second name.

The batch of Latvian pilots sent to training at the same time as Uffz Stars were sent to Parow, Plathe, Lignitz and Sagan according to my sources.

Thanks in advance

Re: Latvian Uffz Julijs Stars

Ok, I have found a Latvian Uffz Alfred Stars killed on 10 October 1944 in Naugard, Poremania, in the Fw 190 A-5 WNr 1350 of II./JG 103. I think it is enough to link the two men above and consider they are one and the same.

Any more details will be appreciated anyway.

Best regards

Laurent

The Latvian Uffz Julijs Stars was killed in a training accident on his second solo flight in an FW-190. His Fw 190 A-5 Wnr 1350 crashed at Naugard, Pomerania. He was a member of the second group of Latvian pilots sent for fighter training in Germany, after serving above the Baltic States with NSGr 12, and was with the operational training unit II./JG 103 at the time of his death.
