Gilles

On CWGC Walters is listed as a Leading Aircraftsman so it seems unlikely he was a pilot..?

I believe that Toulouse was on the ferry route that was opened across France to Italy I am wondering if it was anything to do with that?

On RAF Commands http://www.rafcommands.com/forum/for...neral-Category there has been a series of posts running for many years with the title "Unaccounted Airmen". Started originally by Henk Welting who sadly died and now continued by Alex Smart. These investigations have advanced from 1939 and now are close to the end of February 1945 so they should reach 13Mar45 quite soon ;-)

Joyeux noel

I have been asked this by RAFA Sud-Ouest and he was killed in a road traffic accident. Where did you get the church crash info from?

Hi Chris,

The information I have concerning his aircraft crash on a church is coming from a local newspaper, which quotes a local inhabitant, thus very unreliable, this news paper is known for its poor quality.

but now, it rings a bell to me : this soldier ( I now remember) was killed in a car (or motorbike) accident in Toulouse.

therefore, please forget my previous question.

Thanks for your answers, and I wish you a ll a nice Christmas time with your family.

Gilles
