Names for two EKM?

A report in Air2/8738 dated 16 Jan 1945 lists a Fw Wilhelm Gessele and a Paul Laue with the EKM's 67184/298 and 60028/180 lost 2 Jan 1945, North West of Seltz, are these names correct?
Happy New Year.
Joe

Belonged to a crew of NJG 100 flying Lotse for Bodenplatte. Crew is still missing (no graves registrated or as UdU). Will follow up with more details later.

Re: Names for two EKM?

No. 67184/298 is Fw Walter Vollmer and 60028/170 Fw Herbert Weberschinke, both killed 1 Jan 45.
Fw Wilhelm Gössele (not Gessele) had 67184/293. He was killed also 1 Jan 45 in the same aircraft as Vollmer and Weberschinke.
I cannot find any Paul Laue in my database. Could you give some more info on his death.

Matti

Re: Names for two EKM?

Matti,
Thanks, the VDK have Vollmer and Weberschinke listed as being buried at Niederbronn-les-bains amongst the unknowns, I can only assume that Gössele is with them, the name Paul Laue is attributed to one of the EKM'S in the report, if you would like a copy please PM me an email address.

Matti,

I have 60028/180 for Weberschinke. Did you make a Typo?

Thanks,

John

Ah, yes. Old fingers, you know. Also 7 and 8 are too near to each other in the keyboard .
