Question Which Number & Crest

Hi All

I am keen to find out the aircraft unit number and the colour of the number along with the unit crest that was also used on both of the planes below.

The first pilot is Alfred Sander plane from 3/JG27, crashed on 30 Sep 1940 when he was killed,

The second Pilots name is Hans Bertram from 1/JG27, which also crashed on 30 Sep 1940 when he was killed.

Kindest Regards

John

Re: Which Number & Crest

The numerals were not recorded for both losses but it is assumed that both are recorded as being 3 Staffel thus yellow. However, Bertram is stated as being the Gruppen Adjutant of I/JG 27 (not 1/JG 27) thus he would have had <+ on his fuselage. It is assumed that both carried the lioness over Africa badge on the cowling
