Focke Wulf Fw190d-9 in the USA summer 1944

Found a picture that is allegedly a Fw190d-9. Caption is that is was tested in the summer of 1944

Was there a Fw190D-9 that early in the USA?

Perhaps you could post the picture?

I would guess it's a typo and should read 1945.

Re: Focke Wulf Fw190d-9 in the USA summer 1944

First Allied captured Fw 190 D-9 was the one piloted during operation Bodenplatte by Lt. Theo Nibel, 10./JG 54, on 1 January 1945.

There is thus no possibility for a Fw 190 D-9 to be in the States back in 1944.

Cheers
Marc
