Looking for some Strike Photos . Italia /Austria 1943-44.

Ciao a Tutti dall'Italia.

I am a free Researcher about the air battle of the Goldener Sonntag 19 December 1943 : Germany , Austria , Italia.
Since a long time I am looking BOMB AWAY pictures of the 2 different USAAF ‘ Targets in that Day . XVth A.F.
B-24 : Messerschmitt Plant of Augsburg . Germany.

B-17 : Innsbruck M/Y . Austria .

I am also searching bomb fall plot Photos of the 1st bombardment of my Town , TREVISO , 7 April 1944 , pictures never received from some contacted USAAF ‘ Units .

All photos , also in different dates, of Treviso under the bombs are much appreciated .

I am preparing some conferences and lectures in Schools and so the visual documents are at all useful and important for my Students and History passioned Persons.
Thanks for every help. Contacts via reply and direct via mail.

Re: Looking for some Strike Photos . Italia /Austria 1943-44.

Unfortunately only one of the photographs above indicated do show a bombardment of Treviso, and on a different date (January 15, 1945)... (I know that the enormous Fold3 archive isn't always simple to search and a good help can be supplied by the reader's comments).

I am enclosing a couple of post-April 7 bombardment intelligence images showing the assessment of damages and clearly showing that the objective of the bombing was the marshalling yard and the rail lines cutting through the town.

I am adding this precisation because during and post-war this bombardment left a trail of sensation and of theories because none could accept the fact that a relatively small town could be attacked with such deadly results (over 1,000 victims) destroying the historical center of the town which wasn't seen and perceived - perhaphs naively - by the inhabitants as a military target.

Sadly the placement of the railway station and the very little "precision" bombing by over 150 B-17s was a deadly mix that had such deadly result.

Re: Looking for some Strike Photos . Italia /Austria 1943-44.

Grazie a voi, cari Amici Snautzer & Veltro.
Thanks to you , dear Friends Snautzer & Veltro .

* The Fold3 Pictures are interesting for my Archive being all Photos taken over Targets in the territory of the Treviso Province.
The bombardment of the City on 15 January 1945 is locked in a terrible portrait of the historical wall ( 16th Century , 1500 ' years ) around Treviso so visible in the snow.

** The 2 Pictures of the R.A.F. recce are absolutely never seen before, a document registered only 3 Days after the event.
Much much important because they are showing the bombs dispersion and the large damages also far from the scheduled Target , M/Y .
But all the boatos started per years and years , until now !!! , about the choose of the sight are at all fantastic and true mythes .
In the same Day were hit also : Mestre , Ferrara and Bologna , Operation Strangle , there without legends or more...

Giorgio Pietrobon
