We keep seeing requests for 'I would like to contact crew members of...." from new members. We would remind such posters that the chances are getting slimmer by the day-it you were 20 in 1940, you would be 95 now; if you were 20 in 1945 you would be 90 if still alive. Many posters were lucky to contact many 30 years ago and thought they were old at 65. Very, very few are still alive, interested or compos mentis. As to relatives, very hit and miss especially is they are not interested

My Father is 91 and loosing his memory He has seen the bombing of Hamburg and work on ships to avoid slave labor work in Germany He was on The Monte Olivia and Orkan
The last was torpedo by a Russian submarine.He is today mixing facts if you ask him about his wartime period. And after asking he gets nightmares So let the oldies enjoy if they can the last days of there life and let the past for what it is. Go to the bookstore-Museums etc for your data there is plenty info on the world.
