Johann Stollnberger

Hello jp

This is what I have been able to find on this notable ground-attack pilot and ace. Unfortunately, as you can see there is not that much information available regarding his victory claims. Hopefully others can correct this state of affairs and I hope this helps.

Horrido!

Re: Stollnberger

Hi JP

Hans shortened version of Johann. Regarding his claims, forty-five would most likely be too many. Certainly ten judging by his aircrafts rudder, but none after July 1942 unless during 1945. First two are known to me with 4./LG 2 as a Fhr:-

22nd June 1941 P-40 2010 hrs
23rd June 1941 SB- 0745 hrs

Only hope really is Stollnberger himself. I known that Helmut Mischke, who like Stollnberger flew for units who's claims on the micro films are lost had a personal list given him(officially, all typed out) for his earlier claims, yet Stollnberger has none at all on the daily micro film claims where all units are recorded daily in two lists East and West. I believe though ninety-six years old tomorrow that he is(as far as I know) still living.

Kind Regards

Johannes
