Spitfire BL734

This aircraft was flown by FL John Plagis in his time with 64 Squadron. It was a Spitfire Vb. Ws this a standard aircraft or did it have clipped wings?

regards

Keith

Re: Spitfire BL734

Just found a reference that states BL734 was a Spitfire VC not a VB

Re: Spitfire BL734

Not sure what sort of reference you found. BL734 was built as a Mk VB, so in all probability it remained one throughout its service.

Re: Spitfire BL734

I have a photo from Plagis showing from behind a MkV spit coded SHB in which he writes "my cropped clipped spitfire" although the serial cant be seen. It might get a field conversion who knows.
