Did Stukas ever bomb or strafe London?

Did German fighters or Stukas ever bomb, dive-bomb (with Jericho Trumpets) or strafe Greater London itself?

Bf 109s yes from September 1940 onwards from altitude. 20 Jan 43 saw Jabos attack London albeit not central London at low-level. Stukas got as far as the Thames Estuary in BofB and in the Blitz, lone Stukas occasionally dropped bombs (not as dive bombers) in and around London

If Croydon is/was considered to be part of greater London, then most certainly...!

According to Wikipedia: "The County Borough of Croydon was a local government district … from 1849 to 1965 … In 1965 the county borough was abolished and its former area transferred to Greater London."

(You'd never guess from the above that I used to work in local government …)

The Germans with only a few fighters seem to have underestimated the agitation their 'tip & run' attacks were causing the British well in to 1943, and had they continued could have achieved much more

Re: Did Stukas ever bomb or strafe London?

Stukas tried divebombing the London docks - at night (!) - during the Blitz.

Here's the - excellent - definitive book on the subject:
