Looking for Information on Rudolf Hertle

Good day,

I was wondering if anyone could help me to get some more information, photos, etc. on my grandfather Rudolf Hertle. He did not serve in the Luftwaffe until 1944, as he was a civilian test pilot for Messerschmitt and Heinkel.
From his stories i know that he worked mainly on the Me108 Taifun and on various Me109 versions. During his time with the Me 109s he was also involved in the Me 109T catapult launch tests, which were planned for the German Aircraft carrier. In the years 1941 - 1943 he was mainly based in Paris, LBG, where he checked those 109s that came out of maintenance.
Besides his work for Messerschmitt, he did test prototypes of flying boats made by Heinkel. Besides his stories about a couple of forced landings, i do not recall any more information about his time with the flying boats..

Thank you very much for any help!

Kind Regards,
Alex

Re: Looking for Information on Rudolf Hertle

Alex,

you will find some information on your grandfather in my book "Die Jäger der Graf Zeppelin" published by myself in 2002. I visited Rudolf in 1992 and was grateful for his hospitality.
Francis
