He.111 2./KG26, Moray Firth, 1 March 1941

In the evening of 1 March 1941, He.111H-5 (1H+BK/wnr. 3774 ) of 2./KG26 ditched in the Macduff-Fraserburgh coastal area area of the Moray Firth. The crew of Oblt. Hatto Kuhn(FF), Uffz Friedrich Großhardt(BO), Gefr. Manfred Hänel(BF) and Uffz Ferdinand Mänling(BS) took to their dinghy and reached the nearby shore, where they were promptly captured. They were interrogated at Banff police station before being transferred south by train the next day.

I understand that Kuhn revisited the scene of his capture on 12 August 1977,

Does anyone have of further information (photos, police reports, AI(k) reports) relating to this incident and/or the crew that they are willing to share? Or do they know where I might obtain such?

I seem to remember there was quite a bit written about this in the Aviation Archaeology magazine in the late 70s when he visited. There will be a K Report-maybe it is covered in the latest Luftwaffe Crash Archive series. Failing that, AHB or NA. I was never in touch with him
