Do 217 crashed in France
Hello,
I tracked down a Do 217 (Weknummer 1475, 6/NJG 4) crashed in Curciat-Dangalon (Ain, France). The crew consisted of Fw Gunther Konzac, pilot. Uffz Wamter Schumacher, radio (died the next day), Obergefr. Alfred Elster, gunner. This happened in the month of March 1944 but the date is unknown. The administrative authorities of the place does not have a paper on this story. Do you know the real date of the crash? History says that the plane was shot down by a British fighter ... This kind of fight is rare in this region at that time. What do you think ? Thank you for your help. |

Re: Do 217 crashed in France
Thank you udf_00. For weeks I'm looking for and I have not been able to find this site ...
Now it only remains for me to find the English night fighter unit in question. I'll post you the result. |

Re: Do 217 crashed in France
No RAF night fighter claims match either location or time so perhaps it was a bomber that damaged them?
