Seeking photos of crashed 15.(Z)/LG1 Bf110C NE of Lunéville, France on 2 April 1940
Hello,
For the EoE Phoney War Project, I'm seeking photos of this loss: "2 April 1940: 15.(Z)/LG1 Messerschmitt Bf110C. Shot down in combat with Moranes during escort sortie for Do17 of 4.(F)/121. Attacked in turn by Adjt Le Martelot of GC 2/2 and Lt Bissoudre of GC II/3. Crashed and burned out at Jolivet, north-east of Lunéville 12.13 p.m. (Ff) Lt Hans Busching and (Bf) Uffz Heinz Arndt both killed. Aircraft 100% write-off." Can anyone help with photos or any additional information on this loss? |

S/Lt Antonin Mikolasek (a Czech pilot of GC II/3) was a third co-author of this victory.

Re: Seeking photos of crashed 15.(Z)/LG1 Bf110C NE of Lunéville, France on 2 April 1940
Hello,
Thanx for the comments. The link posted by "udf" is an excellent account of this incident, of which I was't previously aware. I have two photos of this incident from the SHD Collection, showing only a pile of wreckage, and another overview of the crash site. This article, in French, will be very helpful. I note that the main SHD photo I have is published there, showing a pile of wreckage with several people behind it, has been posted in reverse. Thanx for the help guys! This is exactly why I'm posting these questions. |
