Can anyone say which unit used G3 on Hampdens

This seems to be a tricky one.
What first pops into my mind is some kind of OTU where the actual code, indicating the true unit, is missing.
I have seen some Hampdens carrying both a single letter plus a single digit behind the roundel, but never without the unit's letter code, so....just an idea.....

Looks like the hampden in front maybe E3 ?
random thought
is it a blenheim in the photo or a bolingbroke and the a/c RCAF ?

Note the yellow underside, as appropriate to a training unit like the No.5 Air Observers School. Other codes in use by the School were C1 (Blenheim), U2 (Anson), M2 (another Hampden), and G5 (Lysander TT), This suggests that the number may be a Flight number.
