Details Fw. Niemand 2./NJG6, KIA 1943?

Dear all,

I am looking for information on a Fw. Niemand who served with 2./NJG6 in 1943, and who was reportedly killed in a crash during a target practice flight, date unknown but probably sometime in the 2nd half of 1943.

Who can supply any details on this airman and on the date when he was killed?

Cheers and thanks, Theo

The only Niemand I can find in my 110 & Ju 88 files. The time is right, but the unit is KG 6 vs NJG 6.

Ju 88A-14, 144676, Hawranek, Ltn. Josef, , I., Stab I., KG 6, grüne B, 3E+BB, , , 06-Jul-43, MIA with crew, probably due to enemy nightfighter., , Lfl.2/Mittelmeer, Gen.Qu.6.Abt. (mfm #11)-Vol.19; Horn, Wir Flogen gen Westen, p.251, , Ort unbekannt, 100%, F, B Uffz. Georg Glashauer, Bf Uffz. Herbert Mattner & Bs Ogefr. Otto Niemand, ,

Thanks a lot for checking Jim -the details on a Fw. Niemand stems from a photo of the Martin 'Tino' Becker collection, it may be that the name was wrongly spelled, the name does not appear anywhere in the KTB Stab NJG6 nor in any other primary or secondary source ..

Cheers, Theo
