Syerston with 61 and 106 Squadron

Good evening!

On 20th December 1942, the Group Order of 5 Group specified per airfield (9 and 44 Sqdn. on Waddington, 49 and 57 Sqdn. on Scampton etc.) which bomb load compositions had to be taken to Duisburg. Thus I was able to compare the desired numbers with the loads actually carried.

The proverbial exception being RAF Syerston, used by 61 and 106 Sqdn. where the bomb load specification has a puzzling handwritten '23A'. The ORB of 106 Sqdn. supplies that info, but the ORB of 61 Sqdn. does not.

Who has copies/access to the Appendices from the ORB of 61 Sqdn. and does it reveal any info about the bomb loads per aircraft?

Many thanks in advance! Best regards, Marcel
