9/JG3, 15.09.1940

I have found some interesting photos of:
9/JG3 on 15.09.1940.
Messerschmitt Bf109E-3 (0746). Force landed on a beach in France. Aircraft code yellow 6+l.

Ok, found it. Aircraft force landed on 14.09.1940.

No, the original caption date was correct.

15 September 1940 9./JG3 Messerschmitt Bf109E-3 (0746). Belly-landed on beach at Ambleteuse damaged in combat over the Channel. FF Uffz Eberhard von Boremski believed unhurt. Aircraft Yellow 6 + l 45% damaged but repairable.

Thank you Peter. I have amended my records. Lots of interesting photos of crashed JG3 Bf109's on that page. I wonder how many more internet sites have photos of crashed Luftwaffe aircraft on them. Time for an internet search . Checking through my records, I'm surprised to find a number of force landings in the UK during the BoB which have no Werk nummer recorded. Surely this information must have been recorded by the crash investigation team at the time? Would you have this information Peter?

Werk Nummern were not routinely recorded in Lw loss records before 27/28 August 1940. But if the relevant number was recorded by A.I.1.(g) on their inspection of enemy aircraft down in the UK during 1939-1940, or if it can be determined via photographs then I will certainly have note of it.
