I will gift with...

I will gift with an original WW2 luftwaffe color postcard to the first providing me with the COMPLETE names of the crew lost.
I only have the surname of the officer at command.

The plane involved was the He-59 registered D-AROO
shot down 28-7-1940.

Regards
Fran

Heinkel He59 D-AROO 28 July 1940

Sorry but all I can offer is:

Uffz MAELZER & Gefr PADDAGS both missing. Uffz BAUMILLER and Uffz BUESS both rescued.

Another He59 of SNFKdo.3 lost the same day was the D-ASUC. Lt SANDGAARD, Fw NISADOWSKI, and Gefr FEUGEL wounded. Gefr BERG & Obergefr NUECHTER killed.

You can keep the postcard - unless it is a Willrich 'Balthasar' !!

He59 losses 28 July 1940

Sorry Fran, I left out Oberlt CHUDZIAK's name from the crew of D-AROO.

Incidentally, Lt WOELKE and his crew were from SNFKdo 1 NOT SNFKdo 3.

All 3 He59s fell victim to No.111 Squadron Hurricanes, FERRIS claiming two of them & ROBINSON the other. Refer BoBT&N p549.

Thanks anyway,
You may understand my interest because I have the service tunic from this officer in my collection. It is virtually mint condition since the date of tayloring in the inside label is only some weeks before he was reported missing.
In the label it is handwritten also the surname but the first name is unknow to me.
My intention is to make a futher researching at BA Aachen (advices on how proceed to do so, will be wellcome) so need at least a complete name.
Any help, heartly appreciated.
Regards
Fran
