Luftwaafe night fighter loss July 2/3 1941?
Hello
On the night of July 2/3 1941 Stirling N6003 of 7 Squadron claimed an 'Me.110' shot down over the northern part of the Zuider Zee (Ijsselmeer) at 00.22 hours and 16,200 feet. The combat report field by the pilot and rear gunner of N6003 states that three of the Stirling's crew saw the fighter hit the ground and burst into flames. Can anyone give a possible Luftwaffe loss that matches this claim? Many thanks, Regards Simon |

This is in the GQM list. WNr. seems to be incorrect.
1941-07-03, II/NJG 1, Bf 110 C-4, 1305, Bei Langweer, 9 km südöstlich Sneek Absturz infolge Feindbeschuß. Bruch 100 %. Besatzung mit Fallschirm abgesprungen. Matti |
