Loss of Bf 110 in the Alps - 13.06.43?

			Hi Guy's,

Recently purchased some crash photos of a Messerschmitt Bf 110. The date on reverse of photo has 13.06.1943 with aircraft code being D5 + WA. Can anyone share any further information regarding the crew and Wnr.? I cannot find any details in my files regarding the incident! Kind regards, Melvin www.aircrewremembrancesociety.co.uk Last edited by Melvin Brownless; 29th May 2017 at 18:18. |

Bf 110G-2 WNr. 6326 with registration DS+WA - not D5+WA - crashed on a ferry flight due to engine trouble on 13.06.43 near Oberkematen. The unit was Flugzeugleitstelle Luftflotte 2, both pilots Ofw. Walter Rottleb and Ofw. Max Staak became wounded.

I have conflicting info with Bf110G-2 WNr 6326 lost with 9./ZG 26 3U+FT after ememy fire in the Etna area, Sicily in 18, July 1943 with Ofw Gründel, inj at the controls. Any ideas?

			Maybe you refer to this:

1943-07-18, 9./ZG 26, Bf 110 G-2, 6236, 3U+FT, Nördlich Ätna Flugzeugführer Ofw Bründl, Willi, verletzt Bordfunker Fw Wolfsteiner, Hans, verletzt Feindbeschuß. Bruch 100 %. Matti |

Thank you Matti - I hoped you were able to solve this. Again two twisted numbers like so often. Not to mention the misspelled name.
