Walter Schucks last combat

The story of Walter Schucks last combat and his defeater Joseph (Joe) A. Peterburs is printed in the May/June 2006 issue of Jet & Prop.
Headline: "Former foes, best friends today".

Cheers, Horst

Christer Bergström will become famous soon enough
Re: Walter Schucks last combat

I hope that the article mentioned that this conclusion is the result of my research work, which the participants can confirm. (Who wrote the article, who provided Jet & Prop with the information?) This event is covered over a whole chapter in the biography on Walter Schuck which I have written - as you know, Horst, since you've had the manuscript since last year.

Cool Re: Walter Schucks last combat

Heja Christer,

I fear your research work is not honoured in the article: Jet & Prop asked Walter and Joe at the SOS in Louisville/KY about their story directly.

Maybe the pilots forgot to mention your research. Or this was not so important for them - and/or for Jet & Prop.

Cheers, Horst

Re: Walter Schucks last combat

And so Christer, when do you anticipate that your work will be published and by whom?

Re: Walter Schucks last combat

interesting side note and Christer will probably mention this, have chatted with Joe several times on the jet kill and afterward ~ the war when Joe found out he had shot down Walter you could not believe it. In his words when told,

"You've got to be kidding me ! "
