HE-111H - 3/KG-53 Lost in France 15 June 1940
Hello - I'm seeking any information/photos etc on the above a/c lost in France. The pilot was Ofw Friederich "Fritz" FERN. I believe his entire crew survived, were captured, then subsequently released. I'd like to know any available details of this incident and their POW time. FERN was later KIA in Russia on 7 August 1942 with KG-53.

We carry this one in the EoE LW Loss DB as: "15 June 1940: Shot down by fighters near Jussey. BO Oberlt Heinz Wegner, FF Fw Fritz Fern, BF Uffz Josef Hertle, BM Uffz Peter Kraft, and HS Gefr Heinrich Thiele all believed captured unhurt – later released. Aircraft 100% write-off." Do you have any photos of this crash? We have none but are also looking for same.
