Can anyone confirm that Hptm Herbert Stry was KIA 21Sep43 and what unit was he flying with at the time (5./StG 3?).

Something doesn't add up Jim
III./StG 3 was based at Bagerovo, southern Russia at this time. II./StG 3 was based at Argos, Greece. Stry was serving with 7./StG 3 on 02Jul42 when he received the DKiG, but was with 5./StG 3 on 24Sep42 when he received the RK and S7+CP would be a 6 staffel machine. Is it possible that the staffel number is in error on the Gen.Qu.6.Abt. microfilm? Regards Andy Fletcher
