KG-4 in Bialystok,Poland

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to find out as much as possible about KG-4 during the time when it was stationed in Bialystok,Poland for a school history project.

Type of aircraft used, commanders and personnel, missions, etc.
Photographs of aircraft stationed in Bialystok would be great too.

Perhaps someone knows of a book that covers KG-4 in detail.

Thanks for your help,
Mieszko

The only one so far is:
Karl Gundelach, Kampfgeschwader General Wever 4

all the best,
Pawel

Gundelachs book is quite good, but very rare... and rare means expensive .

Do you live in Germany? Then I can give you a hint...

Mieszko, there is a copy in Centralna Biblioteka Wojskowa (Ostrobramska) in Warsaw. I also got my copy last year.

According to Gundelach Stab, II. and III./4 were at Bialystok between December 1943 and early June 1944 (subordinated to IV. Fl.Korps) and were initially training for night operations against railways and industry, partially converting to He 111H-20. First such operation took place in the night 27/28.3.1944 against Sarny railway station.

Hope this helps,
Pawel
