Looking for Besatzung (Transport Unit LW)

I have tried on several known sites, but got no joy in finding more about a crew (possibly from Transport Geschwader - TG) who may have at least survived the war...

Their names are:

Leopold JONAK (Beobachter)
Ernst Hauhmann or Hewhman (Flugzeugfuhrer)
Hermann Michaelsen (?)
Wendler (Bordschutze)
Kraus (Bordmechaniker)
Etde oder Etcher (Bordfunker)

They apparently served in Süd France and Italy as well...

Any info about a possible crash or wound which would link them or one of them to their Unit would be most welcomed.

Apparently they all survived the war...

A.

Re: Looking for Besatzung (Transport Unit LW)

Hi Adriano,

"Ernst Hauhmann or Hewhman (Flugzeugfuhrer)" : I read this as Hartmann.
Ernst Hartmann is mentioned as pilot of TG30 in the French magazine Avions No. 131 on page 49. So he should have survived.

"Etde oder Etcher (Bordfunker)": My proposal: Ade, a common family name in Southern Germany.

@Matti: Thank you very much for your additional data about TG30 losses.

Regards, Karl

STIG: Indeed I do owe Matti quite a lot...guess that since he have helped quite a number of us on this Forum, he may have quite justly "Free Beer and schnapps" all around the world. WHENEVER he comes, be sure that the "first round" is on my count! I have promissed Brazilian beers to some member of this Board and have kept my word...at least two foreign members (UK and France) have passed by here or we have met personally.

KARL: Thank you very very much for pointing me out HARTMANN and ADE. Most welcomed help.

A.

Re: Looking for Besatzung (Transport Unit LW)

IF the UK was nearby the corner, be sure we would have more gatherings like that one where we met...Imagine that, a huge barbecue of Toch Members meeting one another, talking about WW2, etc...Guess wives would not allow that...the ETO would be extrapolated and after some "Pints", Visual and Radio-Navigation would be affected, specially to those flying low level and there would be some MIA or landing at other airfields...and surely we would need to refuel in flight, etc...Yeah, it would be THE Barbecue....readers meeting writers, etc...aaaah if we lived nearby...wish I could visit England like crossing from one State to another here....But for you all who live in Europe....maybe this first Toch Barbecue do become a reality! Wish so...First Toch International Aeronautical History Forum...what a name!
