Day Ranger 22-7-44 Ju 52 losses ? Puzzle
Hi
I am looking for any Ju 52 losses on 22-7-44 in the Putnitz area which is NW of Rostock N Germany. Several Day Rangers were flown by RAF Mosquitos this day and 418 Sqn claimed two Ju52’s shot down in the Pütnitz area. I have been unable to find any GAF losses that match, although there were two Bü 181 shot down by fighters NE of Warnemünde, which is just N of Rostock. There are no USAAF fighter claims in this area for this day and 418 sqn made the only claims. This couldn’t be mistaken identity ? Though I do not know what the Wether was like this day. Any help would be much appreciated.
