Lt Hans Schmidt, Killed 25/07/1940, JG2 or JG52?

I am trying to establish the correct unit for Lt Hans Schmidt, who shot down and killed on 25/07/1940. He is listed by deZeng and Stankey in their Luftwaffe Officer Career Summaries and by the Kracker Luftwaffe Archive as serving with III/JG2. Mombeek's JG2 book also mentions his loss on P. 200. But the loss listings of Mason's Battle Over Britain, Cornwell in BOB Then and Now, Balss' LW Lost lists, Parry's BOB Combat Archive and Brian Cull's second Battle of Britain book all list him as III/JG52 or Stab III/JG52. Which is correct?

Jochen Prien has him as Stab III./JG 52. Strangely a loss list for JG 2 has him listed as July 1940 and III./JG 52 and the source a Red Cross list

Thanks Chris, it looks like Stab III/JG52 is the correct unit.

Bernd Barbas in his book about III./JG 52 also lists him with that unit.
