BJORNVIK
A. F. Bjornstads Rederi
A/S; 1918; Cochrane & Sons;
812 tons;
213-1x30-0x15-2;
132 n.h.p.;
triple-expansion engines.

The Norwegian steamship Bjornvik was bombed and sunk by German
aircraft on January 28th, 1942, near the Lizard. Seventeen of her
crew were killed.

Here is a link with full details for you about the ship and the crew. I dont know the state of your research, so I will post it here as additional info:
http://www.warsailors.com/singleships/bjornvik.html

Position of the ship:
49°57´35N 04°52`02W

About the Luftwaffe units. Its not an easy question to answer but from what I know it had to be a longe range Antiship unit that used
Arado Ar 196A, Dornier Do 24, Blohm und Voss BV 138, Heinkel He 115, Ju 88, four-engined Fw 200 Condors and He 177s and the Do 217s.
These planes were used by anti ship units of KG 30/40/100 between 1942 and 1945.

Other planes wont have the range.

Thats all I can tell you, I hope it helps a bit

Best Regards

Re: D/S Bjornvik January 28th.1942 Lizard Point

I have noticed your follow-on postings. I have no record of claims by KG 2, KG 40 that night; KG 100 and KG 30 were elsewhere in Jan 42. It is therefore possible that KuFlGr 106 or another coastal unit was involved but I am afraid I do not have any further records to support this. It is unlikely that the ship was attacked by a seaplane
