Focke-Wulf Fw 44 Stieglitz

Hello,
27.5.1938 occurred during a training flight accident Focke-Wulf Fw 44.
Aircraft damage 80%.
FFS (E) Quakenbrück unit.
Please, does anyone know the markings on the fuselage of this aircraft?
I have one more question. When did the serial number of aircraft begin to be mentioned in aircraft accidents?
Thank you very much for any information.
Regards Tony

Hi
The Fw 44 would have had a D-E*** reg, losses from 4/36 record miliitary serials
An example 4/36 He 60D 1465 60+H21, forced landed in bad wether

Re: Focke-Wulf Fw 44 Stieglitz

These are the 5-letter registrations up to 1939 as Tony mentioned; D-EATU was an Fw44 at Quakenbruck. I think that's when they changed to WL- military designators.
Regards
Nick

Re: Focke-Wulf Fw 44 Stieglitz

Hi Nick,
That's great thank you!
But in FFS (E) Quakenbrück there were probably more Fw 44.
Or just this one plane?
Thank you again, best regards Tony

Re: Focke-Wulf Fw 44 Stieglitz

FFS E Quackenbruck (D-prefix) operated from 04.38 to 04.39 - then became FAR 82 (most had the WL-prefix) until 10.41 then became FFS(A/B)82 (then carried Stkz markings)
Examples of FFS E Quackenbruck - D-EDZU; EEFU; EESU; ELOU; ELXA; EPTU; EPZU; EUMA; EYHO
Examples of FAR 82 - WL-EBTR; EDAA; EDZU; EJNO; EKNY; EXFO;
If anybody has any other examples would be much appreciated - Thanks
