Those aircraft were all send to Echterdingen for the Daimler Benz Flugerprobung during March 1945. Only the WNr. 601286 was found destroyed at Nellingen, the fate of the others is still in the dark.

Re: Fate of various Fw 190 D-9

I know, I have the notes of the foreman at Echterdingen with these numbers. They were intended for the installation of DB 603 EB/EC with MW 50. (then subtype D-15?)

It would be interesting to know how the planes came to Stuttgart. I think they arrived by rail with no engines. But that's just a guess.

Is there a photo of the destroyed 601286 or what is your source?

Re: Fate of various Fw 190 D-9

Hello Peter,

at least 601098 was ferried by 4.(Süd)/FlüG 1 to Echterdingen via Eschwege - Großostheim.
It arrived in Echterdingen 12.03.45, this is also the date, it was taken over bei DB W60F.

Regards

Dirk

Aah, thank you, so the planes were delivered by air.

Does anyone know where the block 601000 was produced?

Re: Fate of various Fw 190 D-9

The block was produced by Fieseler.
At this time Fieseler also used Eschwege for testflights, but I don´t
know, if the planes were manufactured in Kassel and then flown to Eschwege
or also manufactured in Eschwege.

Re: Fate of various Fw 190 D-9

Seems to be all brandnew production, all numbers around but none, of the ones given by Peter, hv "Nachflug/Abnahme" in march 45,Log from Johann Böhme, train seems a risky nd pretty time consuming solution, but also flying is hazardous , the line of the front, is quite the direct route from Eschwege to Echterdingen, the note you hv Peter, says that the plane arrived there ?

Re: Fate of various Fw 190 D-9

The foreman's notebook says "Übernommen am 12.3.45..." [Takeover on...]
So I think the planes have arrived in Stuttgart. But these notes are the only evidence of the planes there.
