Air Vice-Marshal Keith Park 1940
Hi guys
I have just come across a published note that states during the Dunkirk evacuation period (May/June 1940) AVM Park flew his Hurricane over the beaches - and was attacked and forced to land by a Hurricane or a Spitfire. Further information would be very much appreciated. Cheers Brian |

Re: Air Vice-Marshal Keith Park 1940
Brian: Was he then AOC or still Dowding's SASO? Presume it would be mentioned in his biography and would also presume his logbook is in NZ, thus answering this question?

Re: Air Vice-Marshal Keith Park 1940
Hi Chris
He was then AOC 11 Group. I haven't got a copy of Vincent Orange's book to hand but did not notice it when I had. Thanks for the logbook lead. If all else fails I will check. Cheers Brian |

Re: Air Vice-Marshal Keith Park 1940
Found it.
It was in "Strike from the Sky". McGee wrote that Park flew over London in the evening of Sept. 7th in his Hurricane coded (for some obscure reason - to me, I mean) OK-1. Was he the precursor of the specific WingCo personal codes? |

Hi CJE
Long time, no hear. I trust you are well. Yes, you're correct, OK-1 was Park's Hurricane during 1940 (I believe I have the serial number somewhere - must check). While at Malta his Hurricane was OK-2. Cheers Brian |

Re: Air Vice-Marshal Keith Park 1940
Hello Brian,
I'm OK, thanks. What are you up to now? I stopped Aéro-Journal some months ago and started a new one, DogFight (don't be deceived by the title, it's written in French). Chris |

Re: Air Vice-Marshal Keith Park 1940
Hi guys
Re Keith Park's personal Hurricane OK-1 at the time of Dunkirk and Battle of Britain, I believe this aircraft was N2520. Any Hurricane buffs out there who can confirm this/or provide some history relating to this aircraft? Thanks in advance. Brian |

Re: Air Vice-Marshal Keith Park 1940
Hi Mars
Yes, I am afraid that 'Diver' has been delayed - my fault - it's taking longer to complete than anticipated. Thanks for enquiring! Cheers Brian |
