Halifax B MkIII LW692 PT V - Excavations and Crew
Good evening, I have traced the history of the Halifax B MkIII. I managed to find the crash site. We received permission from the Direction régionale des Affaires culturelles de Normandie to excavate to a depth of 30 cm. We managed to find a number of parts of the plane. We would need help to identify them. Could we have the support of members of the forum ? I have managed to find 5 families out of the 7 crew members. I still have to find : - Warren, Alfred 25, RAF, Flight Sergeant Navigator 176005 Married Missing in action Runnymede Memorial, Englefield Green, Egham, Surrey, England - Wheelhouse, Clifford James, 21, RAFVR, Sergeant Radio Operator and Machine Gunner 175807 Single Killed in action Saint-Riquier-ès-Plains Cemetery, France Grandcourt Military Cemetery, France Thank you in advance for your help. Sergt C J Wheelhouse was from Stockton-on-Tees and lived at 28 Devonshire Street, he worked for Post Office Savings Bank. I believe that he was the only child. |
