Albacore L7083

I'm after the history of this a/c. It was in the first production run of 100 Albacores.

Not much was known to Ray Sturtivant when writing his book for Air Britain

L7083 Delivered to 767 Sq at Donibristle 30.3.1940
826 Sq at Ford 4.40 - 6.40
PD (Papers Deposited) 2.8.1940

The PD term was used when no SOC date was known, usually a couple of weeks after the event.

Aircraft possibly had some accident during July 1940 with 826 Sq.

I happen to have the RCS WWII book handy, 'though the details are few:

Deld. 767 sqdn. Donibristle 30 March 1940; 826 sqdn. Ford, April to June 1940; PD, 2 August 1940 (PD= papers deposited, strike date not known)

Perhaps (whenever that will be published)

But the aircraft had a seemingly four month life span, and with the RN's record keeping at the time.....
don't hold your breath....

Maybe Blenheim K7083 was aircraft "L" ?
