Crashes around Elsham Wolds 23rd July 1941
Good morning Gentlemen,
a British fellow of mine asked me about a crash which happened not far away from him at the Elsham Wolds airfield on 23rd July 1941. The German aircraft flew across the airfield at low level shooting up the aircraft and buildings and crashed on the edge of the airfield near the village of Bonby. It is supposed to have hit a tree. The crew were killed. No damage on the airfield was inflicted but one airman was slightly injured. Are there any records of German aircraft losses that are available that may identify the aircraft, crew and unit ? Kind regards, Michael |
