ATA Pilot Vera Strodl
Does anyone know more about Vera Strodl, who was a pilot with the ATA.
I have read she was born in Braughing, Hertfordshire, England on 16 July 1918 to Danish parents and learn to fly wuth the Sussex Aero Club in 1937. She was in the ATA from 1941 to 1945 and I read that she emigrated to Canada in 1952, and was in relatively recent times, inducted in to the Canadian Aviation Hall of Fame in the year 2000 (what ever that means). I think she lived to age 100.

Re: ATA Pilot Vera Strodl
JohnE has referenced my website above. She was a very fascinating lady. I recommend her biography: Hathaway (2012). Pursuit of a dream: the story of pilot Vera (Strodl) Dowling.
