Seeking ID of 504 Sqn. pilots
I am hoping to identify the following 504 Sqn. pilots:
Maj. W. W. Berg USAAC - He was attached in Aug.-Sep. 43 to gain combat experience and claimed a FW 190 damaged on 12 Aug. 43. F/L Cameron - According to John Foreman's RAF Fighter Command Victory Claims, this officer claimed a He 111 destroyed on 27 July 1940. Unfortunately the July ORB for 504 Sqn. is missing, nor is there a Combat Report. Cameron's name does not appear in the ORB either before or after July. F/Sgt. B. J. Doyle RNZAF - In 504 from Aug. 1942 until posted overseas on 31 March 1943. Probably Brian James Doyle NZ 413042. This pilot may also have later served in 154 Sqn. in May 1944. Sgt. M. F. Harding - Posted in 3 March 1943 and last mentioned in Form 541 on 27 June 43. Possibly 1314524 Maurice Frank Harding who later served in 610 Sqn. and was KiA on 11 March 1945. Thanks, Tom |

Re: Seeking ID of 504 Sqn. pilots
Thanks, RSwank. I'd say he is very likely the Maj. Berg I'm looking for.
Dennis, I appreciate your suggestion and have sent a request. Looks as though it could take some time to get a response. Have you done this yourself and with what results? Regards, Tom |
