STÖRANGRIFF 1942-43

It appears that post-Dieppe 19 Aug 42, such nuisance attacks were carried out along the South Coast, normally by JG 26, in addition to tip and run attacks. Has anyone come across any orders or reasoning for such attacks which appear to have fizzled out in Spring 1943

Re: STÖRANGRIFF 1942-43

Was one of the reasons for these raids to allow the German radio to tell the people that England was still subject to bombing raids as increased bombing on Germany was lowering home front morale .

Re: STÖRANGRIFF 1942-43

Starts seem to coincide with many assets moving to the south of France in November 1942

Re: STÖRANGRIFF 1942-43

Bundesarchiv RL 2-II/415 gives the totals dropped and then breaks them down into the following categories:

Hafen- u. Flächenziele, i.e. ports and area targets
Tagangriffe, i.e. daylight attacks
Nachtangriffe (befohlene Ziele), i.e. night attacks (assigned targets)
Nachtangriffe (Ausweichziele), i.e. night attacks (alternative targets)
Flugplätze, i.e. airfields
Schiffe, i.e. ships

So it seems as if everything you're asking about was just lumped in under daylight attacks with no clue to any particular intention or category.

'such nuisance attacks were carried out along the South Coast, normally by JG 26, in addition to tip and run attacks' - what is the difference between these storangriff and T&R attacks?
