Two Feldwebel Pfeiffer of IV./NJG 1

Hi Guys

I am currently checking my Feldwebel Karl-Georg Pfeiffer of IV./NJG 1 biography against his claims from his flugbuch, and there is a problem.
He was born on 28.11.1919 and lived to at least 2008, highest rank was Oberfeldwebel.

He flew 142 combat sorties, the last half without any claims. The mikrofilms matched exactly his flugbuch until 1944 where there is an additional claim which must have been unconfirmed on 01.05.1944(time 2308-0138 uhr)
However there is no mention of the claim for 13.06.1944 I had attributed to him with 11./NJG 1 at 0034 hrs as a Feldwebel.
I am thinking now that as his last two claims were with 12./NJG 1 that this is a different individual and that the name and rank being the same is just a coincident !

Question kind gentlemen is does anybody know the forename of this Feldwebel Pfeiffer flying for 11./NJG 1 on 13.06.1944?

Kind Regards

Johannes

Hello,
I have a copy of a photo of UFFZ Karl Pfeiffer in 1943 njg1.
He flew three different Bf 110s:
BF 110 G4 wknr 5367 G9+CX
BF 110 G4 wknr 5471 G9+CX
BF 110 G4 wknr 5421 G9+CZ

Hi Johannes,

I'm curious: Is that biography a book or is it an entry in an online resource (e.g. Kracker)?

I know you'll have checked these resources already, but FWIW:
  • Theo Boiten has a claim on 13.06.1944 at 01:34 belonging to Feldwebel Karl-Georg Pfeiffer of 11./NJG 1, but no victory confirmation date is provided.
("Nachtjagd Combat Archive 1944 Part 3", page 56)
  • Kracker has Karl Georg Pfeiffer listed as serving in Staffels 10, 11, and 12 of NJG 1 in 1943-44.

Re: Two Feldwebel Pfeiffer of IV./NJG 1

Hi Guys

Thanks for your replies.

Regarding the claim for 13.06.1944, it's real enough a "viermot" over Raalte at 0134 hrs 3800 hrs with 11./NJG 1. Originally I thought Karl-Georg Pfeiffer as it was by a Feldwebel with IV./NJG 1, but the flugbuch of Karl-Georg does not have a claim for that night. He actually numbered his claims in this book. Therefore as odd as it seems there must/should be another Feldwebel Pfeiffer flying for IV./NJG 1.

The flugbuch abschüße almost match the mikrofilms exactly:-

Mikrofilms flugbuch

6./NJG 2 24.09.1942 Stirling 40-70km N Nordeney 0355 hrs 700 metres Nr.1 0315-0448 hrs flight time.
10./NJG 1 17.01.1943 Lancaster 10km W Vlieland 2329 hrs Nr.2 2201-2346 hrs flight time.
10./NJG 1 05.05.1943 Stirling 3km E Groningen 0100 hrs 3800 metres Nr.3 2350-0120 hrs flight time.
10./NJG 114.05.1943 Lancaster 20km W Den Helder 0359 hrs 4600 metres Nr.4 0318-0437 flight time.
10./NJG 1 28.05.1943 Stirling 70km NW Leeuwarden 0058 hrs 1300 metres Nr.5 0000-0129 hrs flight time.
10./NJG 1 11.06.1943 B-17 50km N Terschelling 1935 hrs 4300 metres Nr.6 1826-2000 hrs flight time.
10./NJG 1 12.06.1943 Wellington Schager 0249 hrs 4500 metres Nr.7 0009-0142 hrs flight time.
10./NJG 1 23.06.1943 Halifax 2km NE Scherwerhorn 0122 hrs 5400 metres Nr.8 0008-0152 hrs flight time.
12./NJG 1 04.12.1943 Halifax raum Waddenzee 0343 hrs 4500 hrs Nr.9 0129-0319 hrs flight time(discrepancy here)

This is not found on the mikrofilms, so highly likely unconfirmed:-

12./NJG 1 02.05.1944 "Viermot" flight time 2358-0138 hrs.

Either my early fault has been duplicated, or another mikrofilm reader has jumped to the same false conclusion that the 13.06.1944 claim was by Karl-Georg !

Kind Regards

Johannes
