Hi,

This one is looks to belong either to Ihlefeld, or his successor Heinz Baer, I believe Kommandeur of I./JG 77.

Hi Rob and Don,

the tail of Ihlefeld'd F-4, Werk-Nr. 7555 is a little bid different,
the victory bar of his 101st claim was under the oakleave. After
Ihlefeld was awarded with the swords at 24.4.1942 his tail was
repainted again with oakleave + swords. This tail looks like the
tail at photo 274 of Prien's JFV 9/III. You can see the a/c of
Bär there. Maybe the victory bars of Bär were painted under
the oakleave later. In JG 77 many tails were painted similar.

If some of you have more or different informations, please tell us.

With kind regards,
Sven.

Anybody remember the old video series 'Hunters in the Sky'? There was a short sequence of Ihlefeld taxiing up to the camera in a SKZ marked machine. Could this be the same machine a little later?
