Hauptmann Gerhard Bock
Hi Iam hoping I can get some information on this pilot I know he went missing 4/7/44 in Russia with 1./(F)100. I would be grateful for any other info regards crewmembers, and if they were shot down or shot down by flak.Regards Steven

Hi Steven,

Hptm Gerhard Bock was St.Kap. 1.(F)/100 and was awarded the DKiG 13Jun44. However he is listed as a beobachter not a flugzeugfϋhrer (but many aufklärer were combined beobachter/flugzeugfϋhrer).

Maybe someone an provide the loss details so we can see how he is listed in the Gen.Qu. loss return.

Hi Andy thanks sorry my mistake he was an observer. I have his 2nd copy soldbuch,and Iam trying to find out what other units he was in as he served in North Africa also.

Bock went missing in the Mosyr-Owrutsch-Sarny-Luninec area in Ju 88 T5+JH Wk Nr 430673 with Fw Alfred Braun-F, Uffz Erich Schult-BS & Gefr Walter Joeris-BF. He was the Beobachter and had been shot down 1 May 44 and he and his crew walked back. His EKM was 53510 so that might help with the unit. A number of documents from Bock are floating around-I have some nice photos of him with 1/100

Should have added EK2 28 Dec 40, EK1 11 Mar 41, Frontflugspange in Bronze 28 Mar 41, Silver 28 May 41, Gold 4 Jun 43. Pokal 27 Apr 44. He was in North Africa in 1942

Further to what Chris said about documents floating around. I have a copy of his 'Kriegsbeurteilung' report from when he went missing. Please contact me if you would like some more information.
