Re: P-59 in UK
Hi
The YP-59A ex 42-108773 was sent by boat to Liverpool 9.9.43 Assembled at Speke it was flown to Farnborough late September or early October 1943.( ff in UK reported as 28.9.1943) In all some 20 test flight were made with a break for engine check. End result was that it has both its pros and cons, but the final verdict was that it was not quite a combat aircraft. The airframe was returned to the USA in early 1945 Cheers Stig |
