Hi guys
On 25 January 1942, Gladiator K7935 from 2AACU collided with a barrage balloon at Portsmouth. The pilot was killed. Who was he? Cheers Brian |

Re: Gladiator K7935
Hello Brian,
Sorry, crash not in my files. Have two names on file for this date and sofar unaccounted for: AC2 William N. DENSHAM - 1042674, buried Stanley New Cemetery, Co. Durham, and P/O (Pilot) John M. FISHER - 102556 (of 122 Sqdn), buried Stilton Cemetery, Huntingdonshire. The Gladiator crashed near Gosport; is it possibly the aircraft was flown by a naval pilot ? Regards, Henk. |

Re: Gladiator K7935
Hi Henk
I have since been advised that the pilot was Sqn Ldr Walter Bowyer, acting CO of 2AACU, a former Battle of France Hurricane pilot with 3 Squadron. He was killed in the accident. Cheers Brian |
