German twin engine losses on March 6, 1944

My Father Lt. Cecil E. Manning engaged and shot down two twin engine fighters on March 6, 1944. Being the 4th FG was target support for that mission, I assume it was in the Berlin area. He recieved return fire and eventually bailed out to become a POW himself. Any information about this would greatly be appreciated
