8.Jagddivision March-May 1945

Hello,

does somebody has OOB for 8. Jagddivision for Period March-May 1945? I am interested mainly which units served under 8. Jagddivision and which bases they used.

Thanks for help

Re: 8.Jagddivision March-May 1945

Maybe you can choose another timeframe?

There was a change in subordination in April:
http://www.ww2.dk/air/hq/8jd.htm

After that change, the following Gruppen might have been within that Division's control: Stab/JG76, II/JG51, II/JG52 I/JG53 and hung. JGr.101.

Don't ask me why the Luftwaffe needed a Luftflotte 6 , controling Luftflottenkommando 4, controling Jagddivision 8 which commanded Stab/JG76 under which four Gruppen from three other Geschwader's where organized .

EDIT: all flying units above were equipped with Bf109, could have been maybe 70-90 altogether.

About which timeframe are you speaking? Mentioned units were part of 17. or 18. Fliegerdivision on April 21 1945 and 8.Jagddivision controlled only 4./NJG 100 in that time.

To be more precise, I am interested in OOB of 8. Jagddivision between beginning March 1945 and April 21 1945. Mainly, if only one night-fighter unit - II./NJG 100 - was part of 8. Jagddivision in mentioned timeframe?

Thanks for help

Michal:

According to Tessin, Vol. 14, the 8th Jagd-Div, in February, 1945 had II./NJG 100 at Nowy Dwor, and II./NJG 101 at Pardorf.

There is not listing after that which might indicate no changes until the end of the war. Tessin is usually pretty definitive for such things.

Hi George:

Georg Tessin wrote Verbände und Truppen der deutschen Wehrmacht und Waffen-SS im Zweiten Weltkrieg 1939-1945. It was published in 1980 by Biblio Verlag Onasbrück. It lists all Wehrmacht and SS units by number and what they were doing by date. If you are interested only in the Luftwaffe, the Volume 14 is the only one you want. In spite of its querky organization, it is an extremely useful publication.
